There is no doubt that HTC One M8 is a pretty awesome smartphone. But, like any other smartphone, when using it for a while it may slow down and it may start to act strangely. It is not so surprising considering the fact that we all love to try tons of apps, install them and then delete them, make changes in settings and do so many things. If you choose to perform factory data reset, you need to understand that this will reverse the initial settings on your smartphone which mean the settings you adjusted according to your needs will be deleted along with all third-party apps and files. Method 1:
The first method is through the settings
- Go to Settings
- Tap Backup and reset
- Tap on Reset phone
- The content from your SD can be erased if you want, but make sure to check the “Erase SD card” option
- Click OK.
Method 2:
If the screen on your device is unresponsive, you won’t be able to perform the factory reset though Settings, but you can do it using the hardware buttons.
- Press and hold the Power button and the Volume down key
- Let go of the buttons when the screen with Android images shows up
- Use the Volume Down to choose Factory Reset and select it with the Power button.
There it is. Once the process is completed, the issues you had with your device will hopefully be gone, and your device will get a fresh start.
